Our People

The staff at Hornby Healthcare are the heart of what we do. Highly-trained and carefully selected, our care professionals offer experience, compassion, and enthusiasm for each and every resident who stays with us, whether for a day or a decade. They work hard to create a friendly and open environment where our residents feel at home, with every requirement taken care of. We employ more staff per resident than the average care home to ensure that everyone receives not only the high standard of care that we’re known for, but the everyday experience of sensitive support and active involvement. We consider our facilities to be our residents homes after all, we just work here.

Personal Care

The size of our team and the care we take to treat every resident as an individual mean that our team not only get to know our residents, but can cater to their routines, personalities, and personal preferences. From strong individuals to social butterflies, our staff work diligently to ensure that every resident’s experience is exceptional, all whilst operating an open-door policy so that residents and their relatives can discuss and influence their care.

Active Involvement

Whilst our staff work as a team and feel like a family, each resident is assigned a ‘key worker’ as a dedicated point of contact for both them and their loved ones. This staff member is not only responsible for monitoring and reviewing the resident’s care personal care file, but also works with the resident to encourage their hobbies and interests, discuss their experience, and keep their relatives up to date with regular contact.

Visiting Support

We work with a talented and diverse range of outside support and medical professionals. From arranging visits from GPs, dentists, opticians, and therapists, to the regular presence of hairdressers, clergy, mobile library staff, and a professional laundry service, the right person for every requirement is always at hand. The ever-expanding variety of guest speakers, activities, and the visits of friends and family also ensure that there is always something to do.

Person-centred Care

We want service users to have the freedom to live their preferred lifestyle, with the choice of independence or participation.
