A Home From Home

We do everything we can to ensure that Lavender Court residential care home is a place that our residents can be proud to call home. From the family atmosphere to our welcoming staff, we think of the building as our residents’ home – we just work in it to provide the care and support they need. The whole building is designed for ease of mobility and fully wheelchair accessible, and additional support may be provided for those with special requirements.

All of the bedrooms are tastefully decorated and many include their own en-suite washing and toilet facilities, as well as a call-system so that staff are available at the push of a button should our residents require immediate assistance. To make our residents feel right at home we also encourage them to add a personal touch to their rooms with photographs, ornaments, or even their own furniture. So, as long as space allows and the room meets with health and safety regulations, feel free to bring that favourite chair or meaningful item.

Our catering staff create delicious home-cooked dishes using quality ingredients, whilst also planning meals around residents’ nutritional needs and any particular dietary requirements. Residents can eat and socialise in our lovely dining room or enjoy their meals in their rooms if they would prefer some privacy, and refreshments including drinks and snacks are always available.

Settling In

From the moment our residents arrive, a dedicated carer is provided to help them settle in and offer any special support that may be required during their stay. We understand that everyone is different and so they’ll also get to know new residents and discuss any personal needs or preferences so that our team can tailor the resident’s experience to them as closely as possible during their stay.

A key worker will also create a personal care file for any new residents that details all of their individual needs and any personal preferences or choices they may wish to make. This file is continually updated and regularly reviewed by our staff, along with input from our residents and healthcare professionals, to ensure that every resident continues to get the care they require even if their needs or preferences change.

Family & Friends

We encourage family and friends to visit our residents as frequently as they wish and we are happy to accommodate visits at any time. With a little advance warning we can even arrange for residents and their visitors to share meals together, whether it’s a family dinner or catching up over an enjoyable lunch. We also encourage our residents to visit family and friends, as well as go out with them, so long as our team know they’re safe. Everyone needs a change of scenery now and then, after all.
