Our Approach

At Hornby Healthcare we strive to provide the best possible care. We take the view that we are the guests within our care homes and the residents are the hosts. Our hosts are given the respect and dignity they deserve. After all it is their home.

The ethos with which we approach care is to provide a happy, engaging environment where residents and care staff are happy to be. Our residents are made to feel comfortable, where possible they and their relatives are involved in the care provided, so that the best possible outcomes are achieved.

We operate 2 small single storey care homes and 1 two storey nursing home. We pride ourselves on a highly trained work force and a higher than average staff to resident ratio.

At Hornby Healthcare we want our residents stay, whether long term, respite, or day care to be one filled with happy memories that will enrich their life.

Life At Our Care Homes

Life at our care homes is all about ensuring our service users feel comfortable, feel cared for and feel involved. Activity and participation is encouraged, but privacy and individuality is respected.

Meals are served in the dining room or if preferrred in an individuals own room. A healthy diet is ensured thanks to home cooked, nutritionally-balanced foods and we can cater for any special dietary requirements.

Every effort is made to help our service users retain links with the community, family and friends. Group social outings take place on a regular basis, including trips to the seaside, theatre and nearby shopping precinct.

As well as regular GP visits, we arrange regular visits from dentists, opticians, hairdressers, therapists, mobile library service and local clergy.

We also provide a personal laundry service.

Entertainment is organised by the care home staff, and ranges from discussions, music, arts and crafts, an annual garden fete and Christmas/Easter fayre. Service users are also helped to continue hobbies and develop new interests.
